Ryan D. Lopez

Youth Intern

My name is Ryan Lopez, and I am an intern at A.L.A.S. I have been part of A.L.A.S. since  I was 9 years old when I  joined the band that would later become “Mariachi Media Luna”. I later joined “Tonanzin”, a folkloric dancing program, and then went on to become the ambassador for A.L.A.S. Although I recently started my internship, I have learned a lot from both Belinda and Cecilia such as the value of helping someone. I have learned that when we help one person, we inspire them to help others.

I first joined as a quiet and reserved kid, but I have gained the confidence to not only share my appreciation for my cultural origins and learn the true beauty of my roots, but also educate those who are curious about it. Working with A.L.A.S. has given me the skill set I need to pursue a career in law such as public speaking, leadership, and advocacy for those around me. I have also  discovered the importance of aiding our local community, and celebrating one’s culture. We have helped the community through food banks, backpack giveaways, and plan on finding more ways to help those in need.
