Our Community Services TeamOur work starts with building trust, ensuring the highest confidentiality and embracing the lived experiences of each individual and family we see. Our team is focused on culturally centered work that begins with honoring our own story, Using a culturally decolonized mental health model of practice, we serve farmworkers, children, families, seniors, asylum seekers and others by providing home visits, working to outreach in community spaces and offer individual, family and group counseling.
ALAS is invested in community outreach, advocacy, wrap around services and basic needs support to provide for the wellness of our consumers. |
Immigration AdvocacyAt ALAS we understand the work that must be done to connect immigration support and advocacy as part of our wrap around services. ALAS is honored to partner with USF Immigration Clinic to offer immigration consultation services for our community. We also work closely with other partners like Bay Area Border Relief to connect with newcomers, provide emotional support and welcome each child and family into our community. We are committed to creating safe spaces for the most vulnerable. Our Founder and Director, Dr. Belinda Hernandez Arriaga has committed work on the front lines of being at the border to our work locally to stand up for immigrant families.

Community Engagement Starts With Celebrating Cultural WealthAt ALAS we believe in leadership that is naturally found in our community . Fathers, Mothers, Youth, Farmworkers and Individuals all come together to build ALAS' work in community engagement and beyond. ALAS is creating cultural spaces to amplify hidden voices. We are proud to work with community partners to strengthen the cultural fabric of our community. Collaboration across community builds stronger foundations for success. Throughout the year we lead- September 16, Dia de los Muertos, Noche en Mexico, HMB La Posada, El Niño y La Danza and workshops that value cultura as healing.
We are proud to work with City of Half Moon Bay leaders and community partners to strengthen the community together, |
