Ayudando Latinos A Soñar, or ALAS began as a grassroots program in 2011. Since that time we have grown to who we are today as a California non profit, 501c3. ALAS Board of Directors give countless hours of time to develop and create vision for the program. Every day parents, community leaders, teachers and our youth are giving back to make ALAS a community reality. We are also proud to collaborate with many different community partners and organizations that builds a program built on community support, involvement and relationships..
ALAS is the only Latino cultural arts non profit to support the rich Mexican traditions of our families. We are proud of our programs that include Ballet Folklorico Tonantzin, Mariachi Media Luna, Mexitli and Misma Luna which all exist because of the hard work of our community and families who contribute to making ALAS a dream come true.
Our Mission is to develop youth leaders and honor the cultural strengths of our families. We believe that the cultural arts inspires the soul, heals and grows our spirit of leadership and familia. We are rooted in a space of collective wealth of tradition, culture and a collective pride to celebrate our traditions and support our Latino community. We believe In building educational bridges to success. ALAS is creating healing spaces through our social work and social justice programs. We work hard to inspire trust and safe spaces to advocate for our community and use the arts to support the healthy development of our children. We care about each family and honor the immigrant journey that many have traveled to bring a wealth of leadership and cultural wealth to our community.
