Ayudando Latinos A Soñar, or ALAS began as a grassroots program in 2011. Since that time we have grown to who we are today as a California non profit, 501c3. ALAS Board of Directors give countless hours of time to develop and create vision for this program that has become a healing space for so many of us. Every day parents, community leaders, teachers and our youth are giving back to make ALAS a community reality. We are also proud to collaborate with many different community partners and organizations that builds a program built on community support, involvement and relationships..
ALAS is a Latino centered non profit that combines the cultural arts, mental health and social justice advocacy to support healing, wellness and honor the rich Mexican traditions of our families on the Coast. We are proud of our programs that include Ballet Folklorico Tonantzin, Mariachi Media Luna, Mexitli Education and La Misma Luna Mental Health which all exist because of the hard work of our community , families, board and staff who contribute to making ALAS a dream come true.
Our Mission is to honor the cultural strengths of our families and be an extension of healing and wellness. We believe that the cultural arts inspires the soul, heals and grows our spirit of leadership and familia with the belief in "Cultura Cura". ALAS is building educational bridges to success. We are creating healing spaces that include counseling, wrap around services, immigration support, and social justice advocacy. We work hard to inspire trust, build safe spaces, advocate for our community and support the healthy development of our children. We value each family and honor the immigrant journeys that many have traveled to bring a wealth of leadership and cultural wealth to our community. At ALAS, somos familia!
